Online Application Form for Participating in its MPhil and PhD Programs

  • Application duration: December 11, 2021 to January 10, 2022
  • Written Test (Online): January 16, 2022 (Time 12: 30 PM)
  • Interview (Online): January 17, 2022 (Time 12:00 PM onwards)
  • Orientation Class: February 6, 2022 (Time 5: 00 PM)
  • Class Starts: February 7, 2022

The requirement to study Ph.D. at Kathmandu University School of Education:

  • 17 years of formal education
  • A minimum of 50% score in aggregate or CGPA 3 out of 4 in the last degree in related fields.
  • Applicants are required to submit their research proposal along with the application.
  • An MPhil degree and publications of research articles are highly preferred.

Additional Requirements for STEAM Education and English Language Education

  • STEAM Education: Master/MPhil in STEAM Education or relevant field
  • English Language Education: Master/MPhil in English Language Education or relevant field

The requirement to study MPhil at Kathmandu University School of Education: 

SPECIALIZATION MPhil Program
(a)    Educational Leadership

(b)    Development Studies
  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of 50 % score in aggregate or CGPA 3.0 out of 4.
(c)    STEAM Education
  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in STEAM-related fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Pure Mathematics, etc.) from a recognized institution with a minimum of 50% score in aggregate or CGPA 3.0 out of 4.
(d)    English Language Education
  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in ELT/English Language Education/English Literature/English Linguistics with a minimum of 50% score in aggregate or CGPA 3.0 out of 4.

Before you start filling the form:
-Please check that you have digital copies of all your education certificates of school level and above.
-The digital copy of your citizenship certificate,
-In the case of non-Nepali applicants the personal identification page(s) of a valid passport,
-The digital copy of your recent passport size color photograph.

Additionally, collect all the information required to fill up the fields included in the Sample Application Form Attach the digital copy of the bank voucher or the online payment transfer slip of NPR 1000. Attach the digital copy of the bank voucher or the online payment transfer slip of NPR 1000 (Bank Details).

Please note that there will be an application fee of NRs1000 that needs to be deposited to Kathmandu University.

In the case of international students, they need to transfer USD 10 to the KU-School of Education bank account in Nepal Investment Bank Limited (account no. 00501030255578, Swift code NIBLNPKT).

KU bank deposit slips with account numbers are available in some of the branches of this bank in Nepal. The payment could be made online either through Connect IPS or through any other online transfer system. In case of an online transfer of the application fee, the transfer slip or snapshot of the payment should be included with the application.
